Career Talk: A Collaboration of Class 1995 and Ministry of External Relations Affairs of BEM FH UNAIR

Ministry of External Relations, Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga (Ministry of Hublu BEM FH UNAIR), in collaboration with the 1995 FH UNAIR Alumni, held a Career Talk: Knowing Yourself, Winning Your Future. The talk show was held offline in Room 303 of Building A FH UNAIR on Friday (4/11/2022). The event presented FH UNAIR alum Class of 1995 as speakers, including Maria Sagrado, S.H., LL.M., M.Kn ., Partner Makarim & Taira S. Law Firm; Royhan Nevy Wahab, S.H., LL.M., Minister Counselor/Coordinator of Economic Functions at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia; Ika Mauluddhina, S.H., M.H., Coordinator of the Bali High Court; Lieutenant Colonel CPM Rifky Nurachman, S.H., Commander of the Officers Education Unit of the Army Military Police Education Center; Dr. Boedi Haryanto, S.H., M.H., Deputy Chairman of the Kediri District Court; Donny Alamsyah Sheyoputra, S.H., M.Sc., (HAN), LL.M., Lawyer, and Intellectual Property Law Consultant Sheyoputra Law Office; and Shofianti Ifada, S.H., Lawyer/Legal Consultant Law Firm Ricardo Simanjuntak & Partners.

The event started with remarks from the 1995 FH UNAIR Alumni Coordinator, Hary. Hary conveyed that the career talk event was held so students could get to know the various professions undertaken by FH UNAIR alums after graduating from FH UNAIR. He hopes that the material presented by the speakers, even if it is small, can be helpful for students in preparing for future career prospects.

One of the speakers, Shofianti, said that whatever the profession of FH UNAIR graduates must be carried out well, even if they are not in the legal field.

“We must remain proud of our profession, whatever it is. Najwa Shihab also graduated from the Faculty of Law but became a journalist. It is obligatory to aspire, but if there is confusion in the middle of the road, it is natural. Over time, we will know for ourselves what career we will take in the future,” said Shofianti.

Another speaker, Donny, said that he chose a career as a consultant for Intellectual Property Law to provide advice and practice in the field.

“I became an Intellectual Property Law consultant so that I could give advice as well as practice in the field. I can advise my friends as a consultant. And at the same time, I can practice as an advocate in cases of trademark infringement, copyright infringement, and others,” explained Donny.

In addition, the speakers also distributed attractive door prizes in the form of books and Gopay balances.
